Field is an installation that expands on the image of the butterfly - a symbol of beauty, femininity, and nature that I freely associated with as a child. As a gender diverse individual, I seek to reestablish relationships with forms like the butterfly that I’ve lost to adulthood. In viewing this piece, one might approach it with an understanding of what they see, but upon engaging with it, make discoveries and form relationships with its individual parts. My hope is that this installation celebrates individuality and unites in harmonious exploration.
